On August 28, the Hanoi Police announced actions against H.D.D. (26 years old, residing in Ngọc Hà ward) for disturbing public order.
According to authorities, on the afternoon of August 27, at the security checkpoint for the preview of the A80 Anniversary Ceremony near the Đồng Cổ – Hoàng Hoa Thám intersection, D. used provocative language towards the police officers tasked with ensuring public safety.
A video recorded by bystanders shows D. shouting and challenging law enforcement, even demanding them to “call the head of the ward police.”
On the morning of August 28, the Tây Hồ Police collaborated with the Ngọc Hà Police to address the situation. During interrogation, D. admitted to his misconduct and expressed a desire for the authorities to allow him a chance to amend his behavior.
The Hanoi Police emphasized that the September 2 National Day is a significant socio-political event of great importance to the country, attracting many armed forces, citizens, and tourists.
“This is not only a moment for people to express their pride and national unity but also an opportunity to showcase the civilized and elegant lifestyle of Vietnamese citizens,” stated the Hanoi Police.
They urged the public to comply strictly with the guidelines of the authorities, warning that any violations will incur strict penalties as per regulations.
